Neurolink is a totally new non-manipulative treatment that Gavin Burt introduced to the UK from New Zealand. He is currently the only certified Neurolink practitioner in Europe, and one of only seven certified practitioners in the world.

In 2004 we ran a pilot study on the effectiveness of Neurolink on learning difficulties (ADD and dyslexia), with great results & lots of interest from the press.

As well as the information in this website, there is also an official website which is well worth visiting:
What is Neurolink?
Neurolink is a system of medicine that allows you to make use of the most powerful physician – the doctor that sits on your shoulders – in other words your own brain!

Research indicates we can utilise up to only 10% of our brain’s total capacity with conscious thought.

But, Neurolink relies on the innate intelligence of your brain to make its own diagnosis of your problem.

When you look at the phenomena of the brain, this approach begins to make absolute sense.
- The brain operates within a template that dictates your unique, individual ‘normal’.
- Operates at 400kmph, controlling 300,000 enzyme functions per minute.
- Contains 100 billion active neurones, each with some 20,000 connections.
- Interprets information from 260 million light receptors in the eyes.
- 280,000,000,000,000,000,000 file capacity for thought processing.

Neurolink represents the culmination of over 15 years of clinical research by an Osteopath, Dr Allan Phillips. Neurolink is now part of a Ministry of Education referral programme, within NZ, for children with severe learning difficulties.

Neurolink is a facilitation system using the brain as a “clearing house” to restore optimum function to all body systems. With this optimum function, the symptoms of ill health and disease can be resolved.

In my practice Neurolink has proven clinically to be useful for concussion, depression, autism, M.E. (chronic fatigue syndrome), viral & bacterial infections, bedwetting, and the list goes on……
Why does your body break down?
The body is made up of neurological circuits, or brain pathways, which allow your brain to exert control over all the organs of your body. An example of a neurological circuit is when your doctor tests your reflexes.

When all the circuits are intact, the brain is in control, ensuring optimum health. However, circuits can break, due to excessive stress (your brain’s protection mechanism). The brain no longer controls the problem. The body loses its optimum state & the symptoms you feel start to show.

For example, in a tennis game, when you lunge for a difficult shot & stress a thigh muscle to the point of intolerance, the brain will intervene by ‘shorting’ the circuit, resulting in the muscle not being able to contract as strongly as normal, minimising muscle damage.

What happens now? Your body tries to compensate for the weakened muscle by shifting responsibility to muscles of lesser strength, leading to instability of your spine & pelvis — resulting in PAIN.
How does Neurolink work?

Neurolink runs a check on the major neurological circuits of your body, finding out which ones are no longer intact & re-establishing your brain’s control over them. This allows your body to perform at as close to 100% as it is genetically capable. And all this without drugs!
What actually happens in a treatment?

After a review of your medical & developmental history & current complaints, you will be asked to lie on a medical couch face up or face down, normally dressed. The physician and yourself will hold different points on the body to activate different ‘circuits’. To determine if the various circuits are intact or not, the physician will use muscle testing (holding an arm strong) as an indicator**.

In most cases, to correct problems, I will contact specific points on the body. In each session, before correction, a muscle tests weak; after the correction, strength is restored. The restoration of strength is an indication that your brain has recovered control over the circuit previously identified as weak.

**Muscle testing has been scientifically validated as an indicator of altered physiological function. D.A Monti, ET AL, 1999.
Is it psychosomatics?

Allan Phillips has trained numerous veterinarians, among which is a well-known New Zealand veterinarian who uses Neurolink on show horses. Show horses can be dyslexic. They can also have problems in their spine. The psychosomatic component does not occur in animals, since the animal is not using images, nor subject to beliefs, so the results can be seen as reliable.
How can Neurolink help learning difficulties?

In this case, Neurolink looks at reconnecting the circuit between the left & right sides of the brain. This is the most important circuit involved with dyslexia, but others can influence the condition.

If dysfunction in these circuits is influencing the patient’s dyslexia, then once Neurolink has allowed your brain to establish a reconnection, certain aspects of the dyslexia should improve.
